PVsurveys were contacted by a potential home buyer who was concerned about the possibility of asbestos in a 1970s build property – we recommended a Type 2 survey.
Our survey identified asbestos throughout the dwelling; components positive for asbestos content included soffit boards, floor tiles, ceiling coating (artex) in every room, cupboard linings, a boiler flue, garage guttering and garage roofing. Two portable heaters were also strongly presumed to have an asbestos content due to their serial numbers matching a “watch list” of such electrical items.
PVsurveys prepared a full and detailed report with photographs, plans and laboratory analysis presenting the above information, which alerted our client to the potential health risks such a property could hide.

It's not always the case that we find asbestos in properties but clients want to be assured that there is no asbestos. This is usually for reasons related to the health of family members but is increasingly in demend from people who want to ensure that they'll easily be able to sell their property if legislation is brought in that focuses on asbestos within domestic properties.
In the case of Louisa Waterton, her concern was that the family home was in the process of being modified and she didn't want her family, including children, affected by any asbestos that may have been present. In this case, we found no trace of asbestos.
Thank you for providing the reassurance that our house doesn't have asbestos. Money well spent for peace of mind!
