| Type 3 Survey
Gullands Solicitors
As a large practise in Maidstone, Kent,
Gullands Solicitors manage the sale of many commercial properties
and became aware of the need to consider their own premises.
Instructing PVsurveys to perform the initial surveys and to
help prepare the management plan was the first part of the
programme.
On completion of the surveys it was established
that ACM’s were present, including some that it was
agreed should be removed, to ensure staff and client safety.
As with many customers, deciding on the appropriate course
of action required was not readily understood and therefore
Gullands decided to employ PVsurveys to gain contractor quotes
and manage the removal of these items.
All reports and management plans are now
in place, prepared on the Presumed Asbestos software system
and ready for annual re-inspections.
GAME
GAME operates over 400 stores across the
UK and Ireland selling the latest computer games.
The company operate a policy of frequent
new acquisition and refurbishment of stores, both of which
require type 3 surveys.
“The Game contract has proved to be
very demanding “ says Dennis Adams PVsurveys Lead Surveyor
. “The Shops have to be closed for the least possible
time and nothing can be started until our asbestos survey
is finished”.
This contract takes our team all over the
country and Dennis was particularly pleased to do the survey
in Douglas, Isle of Man, as it was his first opportunity to
visit the Island.
Wilmott Dixon
Wilmott Dixon are a large firm of Civil
Engineers with building projects thoughout the country.
Thelma Golding is an old Hospital site in
Hounslow and Wilmott have the contract to demolish and rebuild
on a rolling basis. This means a busy site with Portacabins
providing temporary accommodation side by side with new building
work..
PVsurveys were commissioned to undertake
type 3 surveys in between the emptying of the buildings and
demolition and were called upon to undertake diplomatic duties
tactfully re-directing lost patients and even staff away from
building areas.
