If you choose to carry out the work yourself, a good start is to read the many documents available from either the HSE directly (www.hsebooks.co.uk) or the special report written by Workplacelaw Network (info@workplacelaw.net) all of which detail the issue and how to deal with it.

Specialist training courses are also available to ensure complete understanding of the CAWR 2006 regulations, but it is not a legal requirement to have such training prior to completing your own surveys/plans.
